Welcome to Stitches From My Heart! This is a gift from my heart to someone who would like to learn to sew or for you to nominate someone who would like to learn to sew. There are so many things we can choose to be involved in, but when I reflect on all the fun times and special friends I have, it’s because years ago, someone gifted me a sewing machine and taught me the love of the stitch. Whether by hand or by machine, sewing is a life-long “sport”, one you can do by yourself or with others, building the best, lasting relationships, that I, for one, cherish with all of my heart. Sewing teaches patience and helps us all learn that sometimes endurance and persistence are necessary to achieve our goals. Learning self-confidence takes time, and is achieved by mastering the simple skills first and then gradually moving to more intricate or complex skills. First, we thread the needle. Then before long, we are sewing seams, cutting squares and headed to a retreat with our besties, creating art that lifts our spirits, heals our hearts and binds us together.

So, I have started Stitches From My Heart. Every year on the shops anniversary (November….this year is year #11….can you believe it?!), I would like to gift a sewing machine from my heart to someone else’s. This machine will be a basic machine to help a new sewer, regardless of age, learn to sew. It will be user friendly and easy to operate. I would like you to nominate others by following the instructions on our website under “Stitches From My Heart”. Sometimes circumstances don’t make it possible for everyone to try something new, so here’s your chance to nominate a deserving friend, relative, neighbor or a special person whose heart would benefit from your nomination.
